Hi! My name is Heather Fischer and I am the kindergarten teacher at The Teaching tree. I grew up in Pittsburgh and moved to central Ohio for college. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Otterbein University. I have always had a passion for teaching and wanted to continue my education and eventually teach at the college level but when I graduated from college, I started working in childcare and quickly realized that one of the greatest joys in life is to be a part of the young child’s early development. There is nothing better than seeing the smile on a child’s face when they learn or accomplish something new. I have had years of experience in childcare as a toddler teacher, in administration, and now as a kindergarten teacher.
In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have friends in Cleveland and friends and family in Pittsburgh, so I spend a lot of time in those two cities. I love to spend time outdoors; hiking, kayaking, gardening, running, or trying a new adventure. I also enjoy watching all my favorite Pittsburgh sports team in person on tv.
