So many teachers tell me that they don’t have the energy to show up at home for their kids, their family or just for themselves when they get home from a day of teaching all day.
But, one thing that I like to ask them is what time do they wake up in the morning?
I have teachers who come into work running through the door seconds before they are scheduled to come in. Teachers are waking up right after they actually need to and they are rushing around to get ready, grab their stuff, get the kids ready and run out the door.
When you do that you are spending your entire day just trying to catch up. Your day is officially running you. When you do that you are setting yourself up for failure and by the end of your work day you are exhausted because you are physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted from trying to catch up on all the things.
In this video I explain why it is important to wake up early and start running your day so your day no longer runs you.
